Eco-Friendly Garden Wedding

When Grant and Allison reached out to me, it felt like fate. I had just had a cancellation for their date and they were so excited to get to work with me. I knew they were dedicated when they woke up at 6am in India to meet with me over video call! They told me they wanted their wedding day to be an experience for their guests. While they planned to have a small, eco-friendly garden wedding, they wanted to take their guests on a tour of Milwaukee.

Their Eco-Friendly Garden Wedding Day

Because their guest-list was small, Allison and Grant were able to do things exactly the way they wanted to curate an amazing experience for their guests. It all started at the beginning of the day where they invited ALL of their wedding guests to get ready together with them.

Allison and Grant care deeply about the environment and that was a huge focus on their day. Their goal was to minimize waste wherever possible. They gifted every guest a reusable water bottle to carry with them for the day. Their ceremony was held at Boerner Botanical Gardens and at the end of the ceremony they had a petal toss to celebrate their first moments as husband and wife!

After the ceremony, their entire group got on a bus together and drove around Milwaukee with stops at some key Milwaukee landmarks. As Milwaukee Bucks fans, Fiserv Forum was a key stop! Allison and Grant even braved the rain for some skyline photos by Milwaukee’s Harbor House.

Their dinner was so special! It consisted of a 7 course international meal curated by the chef and friend of Allison’s. Each course was from a country that they had visited together to incorporate their love for world travel. They hand-picked their champagne during a trip to Napa Valley and worked with a sommelier to perfectly pair the wine to each course.

My Favorite Moment

My favorite moment was when Allison and Grant snuck away from dinner for 10 minutes to share their first dance outside together in the rain. I know they were super excited about having golden hour portraits, but the weather had other plans. They truly made the most of it and had the most romantic moment in the middle of the street. It. Was. Awesome. I think we all cried.

A Note to Allison and Grant

Allison and Grant – can we do it all again?! I can’t even begin to capture my gratitude and happiness for you two in a short paragraph. If only you didn’t live so far away so we could see each other all the time! I love that you two rolled with all the punches and ran together through the rain. It was the greatest feeling watching you two absorb every moment of your wedding day with massive smiles on your faces. I knew your wedding day vision was going to be a fun one – but it was beyond anything I could have imagined. THANK YOU for including me in your day!
