I had the pleasure of working with Nicole and Garrett before they booked me – they were in the wedding party during Cat and Reese’s wedding last year! Garrett is Reese’s brother so it was extra special getting to see the entire family again. I loved seeing their modern boho vision come together at their Carriage House Wedding.
Nicole and Garrett made sure to plan some thoughtful details throughout their day. They both wrote letters to each other and it was a really special way to spend a quiet moment focusing on the day to come. Even though they didn’t do a first look with each other, Nicole did a first look with her dad. Both she and Garrett had stickers to place on their dads’ ties – the stickers had pictures of them as young children with their dad. I loved this sweet touch!
Rain wasn’t going to mess with their plan to have an outdoor ceremony – they were able to move their ceremony under the covered patio which allowed for a dreamy setting with string lights above. I love how the Carriage house has so many options for the ceremony space!
We were able to escape the party for a bit for golden hour portraits and their wedding day is the perfect example of how you can still have golden hour on rainy days. The sun peeked out right in the end and gave us some perfect glow!
Back on the dance floor the night began with all of their family and friends surrounding them in a giant circle. It definitely made them feel loved! They ended the night with a glow wand exit where they recreated an image from Nicole’s parents’ wedding day – a photo with Garrett carrying Nicole over his shoulder!
I love toasts at every wedding – it is so much fun to get to know the couple better through the eyes of their closest loved ones. My favorite moment from Nicole and Garrett’s wedding was definitely the toasts. Nicole’s sister made me laugh so hard when she showcased a giant printed photo of Nicole and her with pillows in their pajamas to give them big butts! Shortly after, Nicole’s dad made us all cry when he shared that he might not be there for the rest of their days but he would love them for the rest of his. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved every bit!
How lucky am I to not only get to spend one wedding day with you, but two wedding days?! The only thing I can think of is how grateful I am to have gotten the opportunity to get to know you both so well. You two are so comfortable around each other and the love that you have for one another is palpable. I just melted going through your photos and seeing the way Garrett looks at you Nicole – you two have something special! Thank you for trusting me on such an important day in your lives and thank you to your families for welcoming me with open arms – again!
