Port Washington Engine Room 102 Wedding

One of my favorite aspects of any wedding day is seeing how the couple incorporates their family into their day. Evelle and Andy kept their family at the center of everything for their Engine Room 102 Wedding!

Their Love Story

Evelle and Andy chose their wedding date because it was their dating anniversary! The night they attribute to the start of their relationship Evelle almost didn’t go! She had some early morning commitments and didn’t want to stay out late. Luckily for her she decided to go and that’s the beginning of her love story with Andy.

You can see how much these two compliment each other – after so many years together they’re very comfortable with one another. Together they’ve been through love, loss, and they’ve become dog parents! So many members of their family let me know that when Andy proposed to Evelle their reaction was only “finally!”. They were so excited to unite their families together!

Their Engine Room 102 Wedding Day

Their wedding day at Engine Room 102 was full of a lot of firsts for me! I had never photographed a wedding on a Monday – but as I mentioned earlier it was an important day in their relationship. Their wedding was also one of the first weddings at Engine Room 102. It was exciting to see the venue transform into the perfect space for their day!

I arrived to Evelle’s house where she was getting ready – meanwhile Andy was finalizing preparations for the meal. Did I mention that Andy catered the entire wedding?! This was another first for me! Andy is a trained chef and making meals together with their families is really important to him so it seemed only natural that he would make the wedding meal – and let me tell you, it was delicious!

Evelle was so kind and thought of some very sweet gifts for her mother and flower girls. It continued the theme of the family-focused day. After she was ready we headed to the lakefront for her first look with Andy. Of course Andy brought along the dogs so we made sure to capture a few moments with their two pups after their first look.

We made our way to another park to meet with family and take family pictures before the ceremony. For any couples that are having a winter wedding, I strongly recommend having family pictures before the ceremony that way you have really nice lighting for family pictures during the shorter winter days.

Their ceremony was filled with laughter, their dogs, and even a moment to take a selfie. After the ceremony we headed outside for a sparkler celebration. These are some of my favorite photos from the day. The guests were all treated to an amazing meal and Andy and Evelle shared their first dances together and with their parents. Overall it was an amazing day full of love!

My Favorite Moment

Before I share my favorite moment – I need to share my favorite detail of the day. Andy’s father passed away a few months prior to their wedding day. Evelle wanted to honor Andy’s father in a special way for their day. He loved to fish and had a special chair in his boat that he would use. Evelle had that chair decorated and placed in the first row of the ceremony. We could all feel his presence there all day.

It’s obvious Evelle and Andy love their dogs – they escorted Andy down the aisle but they also joined in on their first dance! Their dogs joining in on all of the important moments throughout the day was definitely a highlight for me.

A Note to Evelle and Andy

Evelle and Andy – I was incredibly honored to be part of your day. Your families were incredibly welcoming and I really enjoyed getting to know you both! Thank you for allowing me to capture your day – it was one I’ll never forget!
