Allison and Mark – Port Washington Marina Engagement Session

The fog rolled in off the lake, creating an eerie mist. It surrounded us. The waves crashed against the rocks. Their rhythmic pattern a steady force in the background.

“Sit!” “Stay!” “Good girl!” Roxy and Bella sat ready for their perfect camera moment. Roxy’s eyes locked on my foot. I couldn’t figure out why. That’s when Allison saw it. There it was. A piece of bread. Roxy suddenly jumped the three feet onto the barrier and snatched the bread from under my foot.

Sessions with dogs always have an unexpected nature to them. And this session had two! Roxy and Bella provided so many laughs as they jumped around and found new toy sticks. Roxy’s tongue was constantly hanging out the side of her mouth. It was so much fun!

Allison and Mark are so sweet! They both giggled along as the dogs made up their own minds about how they wanted to pose for each photo.

Before they met, they had mutual friends and Mark had his eye on Allison. He messaged Allison out of the blue on Facebook. Normally Allison doesn’t respond to random Facebook messages, but she did this time for some reason. And now she’s glad she did!

They went on their first date to a Texas Roadhouse – where Allison worked at the time. Can you imagine going on a first date in a place where all of your coworkers were watching?! It didn’t bother them though, because the employees let them stay a little longer after the restaurant closed. Their conversation must have been going well!

Mark proposed in a really sweet way. Allison had been finishing up nursing school, and Mark wanted to plan a trip to celebrate. A few months before their trip, Allison had looked at some rings with friends. Her friend had hinted to Mark that Allison had really liked a certain ring. She had no idea that he had gone and bought it and it was hiding at his parents’ house. He kept the secret for months!

They took their graduation trip to Mackinaw Island. Mark proposed on the first evening there before dinner time so they spent the rest of the weekend celebrating their newly engaged bliss!

These two tie the knot next September at a beautiful golf club and I can’t wait to photograph their big day! Thanks Allison and Mark for parading around the Port Washington Marina with me last weekend! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite photos from their session.
