Abby and Ben’s Jefferson Street Inn wedding in Wausau, Wisconsin took place on a beautiful October day. The colors of the trees had shifted to bright oranges and yellows. A subtle breeze drifted through the leaves. All of this created the perfect backdrop for a fall wedding day.
Abby started the day by getting ready at her parent’s home. I loved that her bridesmaids were all wearing matching cactus pajamas! Their dog Murphy even made an appearance at one point and he basically tried to steal the show. Ben started the day going out to brunch with his best friends before getting dressed and heading to the church.
They chose to have a Catholic ceremony and I really appreciated the beauty of the sanctuary. There’s nothing quite like the sound of the music echoing through the church as the couple begins the sacrament of marriage. They had close members of their family take part in the ceremony which is always a bonus. These two spoke their vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife while their families cheered along. They were finally married!
After the ceremony, the wedding party boarded a party bus to take some photos at a nearby park. I love the fall color! Fall is always one of my favorite seasons. Plus the wedding party was a total blast! This group kept me laughing the whole afternoon!
Abby and Ben’s reception at the Jefferson Street Inn was so much fun! It featured some toasts (where Murphy once again may have stolen the show!) and some really sweet first dances. One of my favorite moments to witness on any wedding day is the father-daughter dance. It might be because of my close relationship to my own father, but I just love watching dads totally melt into an emotional puddle. Abby and her dad’s dance was extra special because her sister actually sang the song. Once the dance floor opened it was the most packed dance floor I’ve seen in a long time! This group danced the night away!
It’s always so hard to pick a favorite moment. And I struggled to pick one for Abby and Ben’s day because it was so much fun! Their friends and family definitely know how to have a good time! However, Abby and Ben are also really sweet and sentimental. My favorite moment was when they each read handwritten letters to each other (although maybe Ben typed his…). It was a really special way to start the day and soak in the fact that they were getting married! I felt honored to witness this emotional moment too.
Abby and Ben – you two are just so much fun! I love how you both bring out the goofiness in each other. Your wedding day was incredibly special and I’m so grateful to have you two in my life. I won’t make my entire note to you about Murphy (unlike some other people we know) – but I’m so glad I got to finally meet Murphy too! Enjoy your married life together – you two are truly perfect for each other and I’m excited to see your lives flourish together!
