Before I dive into this session – I need a moment. These two hold a really special place in my heart because they were my VERY FIRST clients. Yep. You read that correctly. These two were the first people who trusted me to take their engagement photos.

It is so crazy for me to look back on their engagement session – there is a ton of obvious growth. My editing style has changed, my posing style has changed and I’ve upgraded some of my gear. Nonetheless, I’m still super proud of those engagement photos because it was what started it all. It was the very beginning of Nicole Miro Photography and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Margaret and Cameron – thank you for igniting a fire in me and trusting me to capture your engagement photos. I would not be where I am without you. Who knows if I would have even decided to start my business!

Okay now back to the present day!

These two got married one year ago! So we needed to celebrate their anniversary with an anniversary session. We headed out to an amazing venue – The Bowery in Rubicon, Wisconsin and got some updated photos for them.

One of the traditions they are excited to start is taking a photo with their wedding photo on every anniversary. I think next year they’ll take a photo with them holding the photo they took this year so in 20 years from now their wedding day photo is going to be teeny tiny! They’ll quite literally be able to see themselves grow up. I’m pretty excited for them and can’t wait to see that photo in 20 years from now!

These two are totally goofy – when I suggested Cameron give Margaret a piggyback, Margaret suggested they end the session with her giving Cameron a piggyback! It was only fair!

This was a pretty quick session but we were able to get a ton of fun photos! I love the grounds at The Bowery because there is SO much variety within such a small area. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot for engagement photos they rent out their grounds for sessions!
