Can you imagine 3 weeks before your wedding receiving a call from your venue that they won’t be able to host your wedding? Neither can I. But that’s what happened with Elizabeth and Scott. After a small moment of panic and a little bit of scrambling, these two pulled off the venue switch for their intimate wedding day without a hitch.

Elizabeth and Scott have been through a LOT with this pandemic. After swapping their Belize honeymoon for one in Door County, and switching venues last minute, these two are proof that love endures all!

Their Wedding Day

Their 20 person wedding right along the shores of Nagawicka Lake was a true celebration of love and togetherness. It was POURING rain as I drove to the venue and the forecast was showing 90% chance of storms right as their ceremony was about to begin. Of course as luck would have it the rain stopped just in time for their outdoor lakeside ceremony and portraits. As soon as we finished up their portraits to head inside for dinner another downpour hit. Talk about PERFECT timing.

The groom’s cousin is a florist at All that Blooms and created the perfect flowers for their day! At dinner they had a chocolate fountain – I can tell you from personal experience that it was delicious! Their wedding cake from Simma’s bakery was half normal cake and half CHEESECAKE. Can you say YUM?! They danced their first dance to Elvis’ – I can’t help falling in love after a touching toast from Elizabeth’s father. They ended the evening by being whisked away in a boat.

My Favorite Moment

How does one pick a favorite moment?! Their day was amazing from beginning to end, but if I had to pick one moment it would be their boat sendoff! Originally they wanted to have a sendoff through one of the restaurant’s boats, but COVID had forced the restaurant to not open its boating service. Elizabeth, being the determined bride that she is after rescheduling EVERYTHING related to her day, went to the yacht club on the lake and started asking random people if they would help connect her with someone who could pick them up in a boat on their wedding day and whisk them away! Of course someone was kind enough to offer to pick them up. Once again, the rain cleared just in time for their sendoff and their families waved goodbye as they sailed off into the sunset!

A Note to Elizabeth and Scott

Elizabeth and Scott – I have admired that throughout this process you two have proven to be each other’s rocks. Scott, I love that you are not only welcoming Elizabeth into your life, but you are also welcoming two children as well. Your efforts into preparing your home for your new family have been so appreciated by them and I know you’ll be an amazing father-figure for E+E. Elizabeth, I’ve loved our chats and watching you overcome all of the hurdles that planning a wedding involved. Your positive attitude through it all is a great indication of how you will overcome obstacles in your married life.

I wish the two of you the best as you begin your married life together. When times are difficult, always stay grounded with each other. I hope you have an amazing Honeymoon in Door County and eventually an amazing trip to Belize!
