Cat and Reese: South Shore Park Engagement Session

Picture this – you’re 15 years old and you’re a freshman in high school. You meet a person that is really special and a year later you start dating them – and you never stop dating them. That’s what happened with Cat and Reese!

These two knew when they were in high school that they had found their life partner – so much so that Reese gave Cat a promise ring with a small diamond in it over 5 years ago! As he was getting ready to design her engagement ring (which how awesome is it that he helped design it?!), he wanted to incorporate that diamond from her promise ring into it. One of the three main stones is from her promise ring. How sweet is that?!

Cat and Reese love spending time outdoors together going on hikes – especially if it can include their adorable dogs! So it was fitting that Reese incorporated a nice hike into the proposal.

They both worked on Valentine’s day so they had a late celebration the day after Valentine’s day. Reese had chosen Nature Hill hike in Oconomowoc as the perfect place to propose. They hiked through the snow to a bench at the top of a hill. Once they arrived, Reese got down on one knee and asked Cat to marry him. As Reese slipped the ring on her finger, it got stuck! Cat had told him the wrong size! Thankfully, they managed to find a jeweler that could quickly resize the ring so she could wear it that day! Phew!

These two were so much fun during their engagement session! We went to South Shore park and had the most perfect evening together. I couldn’t stop smiling with these two around! I am SO excited to share a few of my favorite images with you from their session and even MORE excited for their wedding day next summer at The Bowery! Thanks Cat and Reese for trusting me to capture these for you!!
