Becca and Sean – Bull Valley Golf Club Wedding

When I think back on Becca and Sean’s wedding day, I think of all the crazy things that happened. I don’t think I’ve ever been at a wedding where more things went wrong. But I’ve also never been at a wedding where the couple was so graceful and laughed off all the mishaps.

First, the forecast was 110 degree heat index. Thankfully everyone was prepared for the heat – we had a ton of water, we left the flowers in the air conditioned car whenever they weren’t being used, and we minimized our time outside. This wedding day taught me a lot about dealing with heat and nobody got heat stroke! Phew!

The next thing that went awry was not funny in the moment, but we all got a good laugh after the fact. The groom, Sean, ripped his pants before portraits and the ceremony. Thankfully his mother-in-law was able to find some sewing materials and sewed them right up! We had a good time with the groomsmen laughing about it and taking a few fun photos as a result.

As we were getting close to the ceremony time, we started to see some dark clouds appear on the horizon. They got closer, and closer. We looked at the radar and could see a huge storm, rapidly moving towards the golf club. Becca and Sean handled the situation with grace – they decided they still wanted an outdoor ceremony and would wait for the storm to pass. They switched around the timeline and had cocktail hour before the ceremony to keep all their guests happy while they waited.

I think the storm rolling through was a blessing! After it passed the sun came out and it was so gorgeous. The rain had cooled down everything so the temperature was a little more bearable. The ceremony was so beautiful and Becca and Sean were so happy to be married!

One of my favorite moments of the day was during their cake cutting. Due to the changing of the timeline, Becca and Sean hadn’t gotten a chance to eat for a very long time. When Becca took a bite of cake, she quickly took another bite, and then another bite, and then grabbed the entire piece and ate it on the way back to the head table. She looked like she was in heaven getting to eat that cake!

Their reception was so much fun! And to top it off they had a sparkler exit to end the day. Congrats Becca and Sean on a beautiful wedding day. I’m so grateful I was able to witness your vows to each other.
